b e l a    s m r e k a, 2020, skulptura na prostem, cca 11 x 2000 cm, ročno grajenje, kamenina, porcelan, biskvitno žganje

w h i t e    s p r u c e, 2020, land art sculpture, cca 11 x 2000 cm, handbuit, stoneware, porcelain, biscuit firing

the inspiration for the w h i t e s p r u c e sculpture aroused from the landscape of its installation. the sculpture embodies the invisible quality of the whole and completeness; of the awareness that all that is is first united in its entirety, from which the particles are separated in time by their own unique mission. this awareness of common origin remains consciously inscribed in the fragment as an aspect of individual action that does not forget the harmony of the whole. as the bringer of a new birth, the  w h i t e   s p r u c e carries within the quality of transformation and resides in a special time. it is a “home base”, time, a time of an “absent” time. it is a time before the first breath, before the time divides into now/before/later; just before the first look around: a look that is just now turning from the inside out and choosing a particular path.
